An African Wedding Experience
Indulge in a romantic African wedding at the luxurious Kwande Game Reserve, which provides a luxurious bush experience personally designed to your wedding and/or honeymoon wishes.
Kwandwe Game Reserve
Kwandwe Game Reserve consists of 2 Lodges, a private homestead and one private villa set high on the banks of the winding Great Fish River in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, offering sweeping views over the valley landscape. The stylish décor, comfortable rooms, endless views and breathtaking sun rises and sunsets make for a romantic and memorable stay.
During the day you can enjoy wildlife activities with your loved one. Delicious meals are served, with dinner being the highlight. You can have dinner in the dining room, the boma or privately under the African sky with a gentle breeze brushing your cheek.
Your Wedding Ceremony:
Kwandwe Lodge is the perfect setting for a luxurious African wilderness wedding. Almost anything can be arranged and brought in for the most magical day of your life.
The reserve has a variety of spectacular locations for the wedding to take place. One of the options is a romantic ceremony on the main deck overlooking the Great Fish River. After sundowners and a glorious bush dinner, you will be taken to your room where a romantic turndown will greet you. A wedding at Kwandwe is one that you will never forget.
Decor and Services:
The wedding cake options are endless, from a traditional iced fruitcake, to a glamorous French “Croquenbouche”. Beautiful fresh flowers can be organized for the wedding and you can be supplied with quotes of specific flowers e.g. huge bowls of roses or lilies.
Alternatively, a florist can be recommended who will arrange everything to suit your needs. The table decoration depends entirely on the theme and the guest’s requirements, any items can be hired. Skilled photographers can be recommended as well.
The confetti used is eco-friendly, either dried or fresh rose petals, dried seeds, rice or bubbles. If you are interested in gifts for your guests, perhaps a welcome note, a farewell gift or even a long stemmed rose on their pillow on your wedding day.
More turndown ideas like homemade nougat on guests’ pillow or champagne will inspire you. For that extra touch, you can be provided with special wedding ideas like a special boma evening, a bush breakfast or a morning game drive “the day after”.
Should you wish so, music or entertainment, for example theatrical performances or song and dance, can be arranged for your bridal party to add an African cultural touch.
The services of a priest or magistrate depending on the denomination of the wedding couple can be engaged. Depending on the time of the ceremony, the priest or magistrate could join the reception and overnight, as there are no transfers late at night for safety reasons.
